JERRICA HACKETT

Jerrica founded The Good Wolf Foundation under another name back in 2020. After working in Corrections for 9 years she realized a massive gap in the system; people were being released every day with no housing, identification, money or support. Jerrica quickly realized she could affect more change from outside of the system than within it- she quit working in custody centres and began managing a community residential facility (halfway house). There, Jerrica witnessed the power of supported reintegration, which only further fuelled her goals. Jerrica left Corrections altogether in 2021 to open a small cafe- The Good Wolf Cafe and Co. Her dream was to have the cafe contribute to the Foundation, fuelling its work. Unfortunately, the cafe closed in 2023 before realizing that goal- but the dream didn’t die with it. Through her work with the Ridge Meadows Community Action Team, Jerrica saw a way for her vision to become a reality, and so The Good Wolf Foundation was born again. Today, Jerrica works as a Project Coordinator for Stop Overdose Ridge Meadows, a Facilitator for local community programs, and a consultant specializing in supporting Social Enterprise Cafes.

LINDSEY HANSEN

Lindsey found The Ridge Meadows Community Action Team at the International Overdose Awareness Day event they hosted back in 2024. Lindsey was immediately drawn to the organization, and began volunteering with the Peer Team shortly thereafter. Lindsey harnessed her lived experience to provide meaningful insight to the STORM team and participated in weekly outreach efforts, community events, and educational workshops. In the fall of 2024 Lindsey was invited to speak at the annual Speaking Through the STORM event. Lindsey bravely shared her story of overcoming obstacles, learning new coping mechanisms and giving back to her community. In 2025, Lindsey was hired as the Peer Coordinator for Stop Overdose Ridge Meadows. She had since brought on new peers, coordinated outreach efforts, and shared her story beyond our community. In her personal life, Lindsey has made massive strides towards her goals- returning to school to pursue her Nursing degree, continuing her healing journey and achieving independence in more ways than one.

LEE NEWELL

Lee discovered the Ridge Meadows Community Action Team after meeting Jerrica. He naturally fell into supporting peers in the community before officially joining the Peer Team with Stop Overdose Ridge Meadows. Lee brings lived experience with substance use, incarceration, and navigating challenging family matters. Lee got involved in participating in outreach efforts, volunteering with community events, and attending educational opportunities. In 2025 Lee was invited to speak at the third annual Speaking Through the STORM event. Lee bravely shared his story of finding his voice and “breaking the silence” about the abuse he was enduring. Lee recounted the challenges and obstacles he overcame, how he found sobriety and peace, and the satisfaction he finds in sharing his story and giving back. Lee has made connections in the Peer Support realm beyond the STORM team, taking additional training through the BC Construction Safety Alliance. After a serious work injury Lee has returned his employer under a new title. With the support of WorkSafe BC and his employer, Keith Panel Systems, Lee is blazing a new trail in the trades as a dedicated Peer Support Worker- using his lived experience to motivate and inspire others to live safer, healthier and more peaceful lives.

MEAGAN VAN BARNEVELD

Meagan was a nurse with the local health authority who was assigned the role of Toxic Drug Response Nurse- dedicated to working with the Ridge Meadows Community Action Team. However, during her tenure with Stop Overdose Ridge Meadows- Meagan went above and beyond her duties. She co-chaired the STORM table, planned major community projects, completed annual reports, applied for new grants, and showed up to every single event. When Meagan left on maternity leave her team was restructured, and her role would no longer provide support to STORM. However, lucky for us, Meagan had already signed on to the Board of Directors for The Good Wolf Foundation. Meagan brings an integral perspective with her medical knowledge and health lens. She also has a thirst for reconnecting with her Indigenous roots, and jumps at every opportunities to learn, sharing her knowledge of decolonizing the work we do. Meagan is a proud Mom to two miracle babies and brings a warmth and kindness to the world that embodies our motto to “feed your good wolf.”

GUY FELICELLA

Guy Felicella is a harm reduction advocate and addiction educator who has spent 3 decades in the grips of addiction and surviving many life-threatening infections. Guy Felicella spends his time educating youth and consulting with political leaders and policymakers on the importance of alcohol and drug prevention. Guy Felicella is currently employed by Vancouver Coastal Health and BC Centre on Substance Use and delivers inspirational talks on overcoming homelessness, addiction, and the effects of trauma and mental health challenges. Through personal stories, Guy Felicella champions resilience, advocates for changing biases toward those marginalized by addiction, and emphasizes the transformative power of human connection. Guy was hired by the Ridge Meadows Community Action team on many occasions, but most notably was the inaugural speaker at our Speaking Through the STORM event. Jerrica met guy while he was mopping the common area of a living unit in jail. She asked him what he was going to do when he got out- he responded with "I want to go into schools to talk to kids. I want to tell them to stay off drugs and out of the gangs- to stay in school and out of trouble.” Jerrica encouraged Guy to pursue his dreams; knowing he had the personality and lived experience to inspire many. Years later, they reconnected- Jerrica working as a Manager with the halfway house, and Guy the hired speaker- sharing his story of overcoming addiction, homelessness and incarceration. The two remained friends and can soon be seen together on the big screen- in a documentary that will premiere in 2026 about Guy’s incredible life.
